5 of Our Favourite Joints for Ringing in the New Year

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – With Christmas behind us, we’re gearing up for a cracking start to the new year. The arrival of 2018 promises bigger and better things, which is why we have to close the year right.

Here are five of our favourite spots to ring in the new year at. Some are laid back, while others will have you in full street party mode. Whatever your fancy, check out our list of picks because four out of five serve fantastic grub, too!

The Good Guys (Damansara Uptown)

The Good Guys - TGG - Superthai - Pub - Gastropub - Damansara Uptown - Uptown - Cocktails

Any night at The Good Guys promises to be a good night; but with the killer food and cocktails they have on offer, this is where you want to be to make the party last longer. If you’re looking for somewhere chill where you can hang with your friends, and potentially avoid the infamous KL traffic, this is where it’s at.

Modern Society (DC Mall)

Modern Society - Cocktails - Appetisers - Ramen Burger - Butternut Squash - Scotch Eggs - Roulade - French Fries - Dessert - Chocolate Lava Cake

Modern Society is known for the fun themed parties they throw on occasion, and with or without a theme, NYE is going to be a blast. It doesn’t hurt that you get great food here too. With really innovative drinks and a DJ up high, it’s sure to be one heck of a way to end the year.

PS150 (Petaling Street)

PS150 needs no introduction as one of the pioneers of the cocktail scene in KL. This is going to be a party you don’t want to miss because their bespoke cocktails are sure to wow, while the ambiance still takes the cake. Reservations are essential!

Shook! (Bukit Bintang)

Saturday Night Vibes - Shook! - Starhill Gallery - Buffet - Cocktails - Happy Hour

If you’re looking to ring in the new year in style, and you’re venturing into KL, it doesn’t get better than Shook! or Starhill Gallery in general. Go for the buffet, and stay for their New Year’s Eve Big Balloon Drop. You won’t be disappointed.

The Rum Bar (Changkat)

The Rum Bar promises to be the perfect spot if you want to head out to Changkat’s annual street party, but you’d also like a nice spot to hide out in when you get there. We recommend you head over early so you can try out their Iberico Lamb for yourself.
