KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Nothing brings people together better than food and music. This is why the Latin American Festival – now in its ninth year – continues to thrive in Kuala Lumpur. Dubbed the country’s biggest celebration of Hispanic culture, the event returns to BB Park in Bukit Bintang on the 21st of May, 2017.
The festival which allows visitors to experience first-hand the rich and diverse culture of major South American countries (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela) will run from 11am to 6pm. Embassies representing these countries will be showcasing their culture at their designated booths. They will be serving food and beverages, and promoting original handicrafts.
Those who wish to visit Latin America someday should also drop by as there will be tourism information available.
Fret not music lovers, as there will be live music and entertainment as per usual. Bukit Bintang will, once again, be transformed into a Latin American neighbourhood having a fiesta.
There’s also going to be a lucky draw where visitors can win huge prizes. There will be gadgets and a trip for two to Havana, Cuba.
Every year, the Festival is organized to support charity programmes and organizations devoted to Malaysians in need. For 2017, proceeds from the Festival will be used to aid KIRTARSH, a non-profitable NGO. The organization aims to provide shelter and care for special needs and underprivileged children in Malaysia.
