All too often, time isn’t on our side. We tend to skip a step of skincare here or there so that we can spend those additional 10 minutes in bed every morning. This is especially so where body lotion is concerned. When it comes to the humidity in South East Asia, the prospect of another layer of product is unwelcome.
Here, we’ve compiled a list of four products that will aid and abet hitting the snooze button every morning.
LÓccitane Cleansing and Softening Shower Oil with Almond Oil
Coming in as the priciest of the lot, this is a product that has truly earned it’s Holy Grail status. While the prospect of using an oil in the shower seems questionable, you’d be remiss to dismiss it out of hand.
Once it mixes with water, it foams slightly leaving you feeling clean but extremely well moisturised. It does leave a light layer of product post-shower, but that sinks in quickly enough and locks nourishment into your skin.
Don’t be put off by it being an almond oil-based product though. The scent is extremely pleasant. There isn’t even a whiff of the rancid, processed faux-almond stench to be found.
Melvita LÓr Bio Extraordinary Shower
Close enough in efficacy to be deemed a dupe for LÓccitane‘s offering, this comes in at a lower price point. It is of a slightly thicker, more gel-like consistency than the Almond Shower Oil, but works just as well.
Our only point of contention with this is just how fragranced it is. If you have sensitivity to perfumes and/or other strong scents, skip this product altogether.
Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion
As a drugstore offering, Nivea’s In-Shower Body Lotion is an excellent product. It comes in four variants depending on the level of hydration and moisturisation you require, which is a definite plus.
The only drawback to this product is that it’s not meant as a cleanser. It’s meant to replace your body lotion post-shower solely. Unlike the other offerings in this list, it doesn’t work as an all-in-one replacement. However, this is an excellent option for those of you who suffer from the humidity causing your body lotion to leave a sticky residue.
Rosken Dry Skin Wash
As another drugstore alternative, Rosken’s Dry Skin Wash tops our list. Not only is it far more effective than either LÓccitane’s or Melvita’s products, it’s just a fraction of the price.
This is one for those of you who want something with no frills that works. Completely scent-free, this will suit even the most sensitive of skins. It doesn’t leave a trace post-shower, but you will feel the difference in dry patches in a matter of days.
