Holiday Dining Options at The Ritz-Carlton KL

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – It’s Christmas Eve tomorrow and while some of you may already have plans for a night in with close friends and family, we’re advocating something far more convenient. Annually, the hotels in Kuala Lumpur offer up great holiday dining options. Less fuss, less hassle, and no clean up after.

Partying without the aftermath is always a welcome idea here at The Binge, and one of our picks for this season is The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur.

 Afternoon Tea

This British tradition has always been well-loved globally, and Malaysia is no exception. This season, the hotel is rolling out two new versions of the afternoon tea: One for kids (and kids at heart) as well as something a little more mature, yet still festive.

A special treat for the kids is the Teddy Bear Afternoon Tea set. They even get to build their own Ritzy bear as they feast on teddy-themed sweets, washed down with some tea and colourful eggnog.

This set served at the The Private Room is priced at RM160 (USD35.76) for adults, and RM115 (USD25.70) for children under 12.

If celebrating with your girl squad is more your speed, there’s also the Christmas Afternoon Tea served at The Lobby Lounge.

One thing that we really love about The Lobby Lounge is that there’s live music wafting through the air. This season, the band will be playing jazzy Christmas numbers to go with your classy afternoon affair.

The set comes with intricately handcrafted desserts, and the exclusive Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur Blend Tea which is definitely a must-try for anyone swinging by.

This set is available from 24-25 December and will set you back RM80 (USD17.88) per person.

Christmas Eve Dinner

Not the type who wants to slave away in the kitchen? That’s all good! Take the family out for a fancy meal instead.

Choose between a three or four course Menu du Jour that features delicious roast turkey – a must at every Christmas meal – and some luscious eggnog.

You’ll find this at The Library, The Ritz-Carlton restaurant that boasts a relaxing yet elegant ambiance. Holiday dining while surrounded by interesting books? Yes, please.

Dinner will be served on the 24th of December at 7pm and will run you RM250 (USD55.88) per person.

Christmas Day Brunch

After a night of celebrations, no one needs the pressure of getting up early on Christmas Day. Drop by for brunch at The Cobalt Room from 12nn to 3pm and enjoy your festive favourites.

No need to worry about the kids either as Santa Claus will be dropping by to entertain them while you nurse last night’s Binge.

Here’s a tip: Don’t forget to have some of the juicy, Beef Wellington! We truly think it’s the star of the spread! Don’t say we didn’t remind you.

Christmas Day Brunch is priced at RM198 (USD44.26) per person.

New Year’s Eve Dinner

Before joining the countdown and balloon drop at Shook! over at Starhill Gallery (that’s just a short walk away) dine with your beau or belle at The Library for a well-curated menu and a more intimate setting. We think it would be the perfect way to end the year before welcoming the new one with a bang.

Dinner starts at RM250 (USD55.88) per person.

New Year’s Day Brunch

We’re not one to judge when it comes to overindulging, and the best cure after a wonderful night of celebration is by binge-ing on great food. The Ritz will be having a stellar gourmet spread for the New Year, which we were able to sample at the preview. From fresh seafood to the Roast Prime Rib, there’s going to be something for everyone.

Let’s not forget dessert.

New Year’s Day Brunch will be held at The Cobalt Room at RM198 (USD44.26) per person.

Come For:
The juicy Beef Wellington that comes with really yummy pâté
The definitely pink-in-the-middle Roast Prime Rib
The desserts

Skip The:
Eggnog and go for champagne – because bubbly makes everything even more festive
